Meet the animals

The animals at West Willow

We have quite a crew at West Willow: llamas, sheep, hens, barn cats, golden retrievers, Romeo the donkey, and our much-photographed peacock. Here are a few of the animals that call the farm home.

The peacock

A favorite around here

Our peacock spends most of his time wandering around the farm and garden. He is especially beautiful when the light catches the blue and green in his feathers. Most of our best footage of him is video, so we included a favorite clip below.

The donkey

Romeo

Romeo is our donkey and one of the friendliest faces on the farm.

We are considering offering Romeo for small weddings and events in the future. He could carry flowers, favors, sparkling water, or other bottled drinks. If that sounds like something you would enjoy at your gathering, you are welcome to ask about it.

The pasture

The llamas

Our llamas live out in the pasture. They are curious, watchful, and usually notice visitors before anyone else does.

The sheep

The sheep are part of the everyday rhythm of the farm. This one was especially patient when we tried a collar made from extra flowers.

The orchard

The hens

Our hens free-range around the orchard during the day. Their eggs come in a natural mix of brown, cream, white, and pale green.

Fresh eggs can be ordered for farm pickup throughout the week, depending on availability.

The barn

The barn cats

Our barn cats have a way of turning up wherever we are working. You might find them in the barn, up a tree — Casper especially — beside the flowers, or waiting to be held.

The golden retrievers

Our golden retrievers are usually close by—carrying a toy, following someone to the garden, or watching everything from the yard.
